As a Software Engineer Trainee based on-site at Emerson’s Pune facility, you will contribute directly to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Emerson’s software products. Working under the mentorship of senior software engineers, this role offers fresh graduates hands-on experience across the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), application development, and industrial IoT integration.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Software Engineering & Feature Delivery

  • Feature Development: Write, test, and maintain software application components under the guidance of senior software engineering mentors.
  • Code Quality & Reviews: Participate in formal code reviews, implement feedback, and follow software engineering best practices to maintain codebase integrity.
  • Debugging & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, debug, and resolve software defects identified during internal testing and product validation phases.

Process & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate closely with Development, QA/Testing, Product Management, and Technical Support teams.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Prepare and update technical documentation, system architectures, and maintenance guides.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in test automation, DevOps pipelines, and agile continuous delivery initiatives.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Eligibility & Core Requirements

  • Eligible Batches: 2025 or 2026 passing-out graduates only.
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s (B.E./B.Tech) or Master’s (M.E./M.Tech) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Programming Core: Solid foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, and proficiency in at least one core language (C#, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript).
  • Engineering Basics: Fundamental understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and systematic troubleshooting methodologies.
