The Enterprise Technology Services division at American Express designs, builds, and maintains the global infrastructure, payment processing engines, API gateways, and customer-facing mobile/web applications used by millions of cardmembers worldwide.
The 12-Month Paid Apprenticeship Program serves as an entry pathway into Team Amex. Key Responsibilities & Daily Workflow
Software Engineering & Agile Execution
- Application Development: Write, maintain, and optimize software using languages such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, or Python.
- API Specs & Microservices: Collaborate with Agile team members to design, document, test, and integrate RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
- Customer-Facing Applications: Assist in developing web applications, social integrations, or native mobile features (iOS / Android).

- Core Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern language: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C# / .NET.
