Company & Business Unit Overview
GE HealthCare is a $19+ billion global medical technology, diagnostics, and digital solutions leader. Powered by its mission to create a world where healthcare has no limits, GE HealthCare manufactures advanced diagnostic imaging equipment—including MRI scanners, CT systems, ultrasound units, and X-ray systems—used by clinicians across 160+ countries.
The Graduate Engineering Trainee position sits within the Healthcare Advanced Imaging Solutions manufacturing division in Bengaluru (Whitefield / Hoodi manufacturing hub, 560066). Working directly within advanced medical device assembly lines, trainees drive New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing setups, design assembly fixtures, optimize part routings, and execute Lean / Kaizen continuous improvement projects to improve build quality, product cycle times, and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Operations
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Setup: Develop, document, and validate advanced manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and line routings for next-generation medical imaging devices.
- Tooling & Fixture Design: Design and deploy assembly fixtures, jigs, and specialized production tooling to streamline shop-floor manufacturing ergonomics and assembly precision.
- Lean Manufacturing & Cycle Time Reduction: Lead Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives to minimize waste, reduce cost of quality (COQ), and optimize unit assembly cycle times.
- Root Cause & Quality Analysis: Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on manufacturing defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) within Quality Management System (QMS) frameworks.
- EHS Compliance & Safety: Participate actively in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) risk assessments, ergonomic reviews, and shop-floor safety audits.
- Project Management & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external tooling vendors and internal design/quality teams to maintain project execution timelines and resource allocation.
Minimum Eligibility & Qualification Criteria
