The Services and Support organization serves as the front-line technical backbone for Oracle’s extensive product ecosystem. As an Individual Contributor (IC1) Support Engineer, you will field customer inquiries, re-create and resolve technical issues, leverage AI automation tools for root-cause analysis, and contribute to continuous support workflow improvements.
Role Summary & Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Customer Advocacy
- Customer Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for customers, fielding inquiries via phone, electronic channels, or in-person interactions.
- Issue Troubleshooting: Provide technical support by researching, re-creating, testing, and resolving simple-to-routine technical issues for assigned Oracle products.
- Service Request Management: Follow up on service requests, communicate resolutions, and escalate complex technical issues to senior peer teams as needed.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Service Request Logging: Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, issue resolutions, and product configurations on service requests.
- Knowledge Base Authoring: Learn to prepare troubleshooting guides and write new Knowledge Base (KB) articles for resolved issues.
Collaboration & Process Enhancement
- Internal Alignment: Provide technical assistance to internal teams and stakeholders regarding customer situations and product behaviors.
- Automation & Tools: Learn to leverage AI assistance and tooling to discover the root causes of common issues.
- Process Improvement: Identify enhancements for support workflows, guidelines, operational procedures, and ITIL-based incident response practices.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline with 0 to 2+ years of technical support experience.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Core Technical & Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for database queries and troubleshooting.
- Foundational understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.
- Knowledge of Incident Management and Response, Change Management, and Support Process Management.
