The Associate – Software Testing Engineer position sits within Virtusa’s Quality Engineering practice at the HYD Campus in Hyderabad. In this role, entry-level engineers specialize in API Automation Testing using REST Assured, validating microservices, functional workflows, and regression test suites to ensure robust backend software delivery.

• API Test Automation: Design, build, and execute automated test scripts for RESTful web services and microservices using REST Assured and Java/Python.
• Quality Assurance Life Cycle: Perform end-to-end functional, regression, and baseline performance testing across software releases.
• Defect Management & Reporting: Identify, log, and track software defects with clear root-cause steps in tools like JIRA, documenting test execution summaries.
• Developer Collaboration & Code Reviews: Partner with backend software developers to review application specifications, evaluate code testability, and provide quality feedback.
• Process Optimization & CI/CD: Participate in Agile ceremonies, continuous testing improvements, and assist in triggering automated test suites within modern CI/CD pipelines.

Academic Background

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc.) or Master’s degree (MCA / M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience Level: 0 to 2 Years of software testing experience. Relevant internships or academic project work in software QA/testing is an added advantage.
